(JFW2019) Style Theory’s Runway : The Definition of Fashion Freedom

Style Theory : The Freedom of fashion with Paulina Katarina, Rani Hatta, and Day And Night.

Style theory revolutionize fashion consumption in Indonesia, and they are doing it while suporting local designer. In this year JFW, they’re collaborating with with three local designer. The designer styles are ranging from contemporary, resort, to streetwear modest fashion making it more diverse and inclusive for everyone. Carrying out the message of Fashion Freedom, Style theorys runway represent the endless possibilities that one can have when one’s not limited into anything. Not to ownership, not to space, nor time, and not even to judgment or what the society define us to be.

The first designer that walk her collection are Paulina Katarina.

Known for her feminine design with a sophisticated undertone featuring an array of silhouettes, she’s taking the theme “Santorini Romance” that are inspired by the picturesque island of Santorini. The beautiful tropical colors such as blue sky against the deep indigo sea, fuchsia of the bougainvillea, fresh Yellow citrus are coloring the runway as it was summer holiday.

The sumner dress with greek inspired print are elegant, light and perfect for a day out on an island. Gold earrings and sunglasses makes the collection shines. The whole resort style collection are a must have for the upcoming holiday season.

Next, Rani Hatta takes the stages and launched her s/s 19 collection with “Rangers”.

IMG-20181023-WA0188.jpgThis collection are inspired by the infamous TV program in the 90s, Power Rangers. With a nostalgic feeling the collection are build with easy and breathable yet well tailored clothes.

“Rangers” dominated by bold and vibrant colors like neons, ranging from power suits to Training sets that steal your eye.
The edgy boots and sunglasses gives extra “hero” coolness to the entire collection. Twisting it with sporty cut and minimalistic modern silhouette, the collection are simply marvelous from the brand that are one of the leading streetwear casual for modest fashion in Indonesia.

After that, Day and Night close the show with “I See You See Me” collection. The collection are describe as two sides of something, like grown up who still has a childish side hidden. Her S/S 19 collection are using a whole monochromatic palette and are inspired by kids wear during 5th-15th century. The theme portrayed beautifully with long coat, crochet fabric and playful off shoulder top. “Peek a Boo” and puffed volume are key details in this collection to interpret I See You See Me.

The three designer differing aesthetic is regarded to embody the many different styles of indonesian consumers with varied style and needs. Style theory enables audience to See, Rent now where several pieces that are shown on the runway can be worn directly after. This is a form of high quality fashion for everyone, giving the ultimate form of fashion freedom to indonesia fashion enthusiasts.
